Tuition Costs

Universities and Institutes of Higher Education in the UAE are allowed to set their own tuition fee structure. Apart from the tuition fee to be paid, students will also have to consider their living expenses in the country. Here is a breakdown of what you should expect in terms of the cost of studying in the UAE.

Visa Fee Approx. 4020 Including Medical

The above-mentioned breakdown is based on the tuition fee structure of most programs. Please note that highly specialized courses like medicine would demand a higher tuition fee.

    Accommodation Costs:

    Most of the universities in the UAE offer accommodation facilities for international students. Students may choose to live in Residential Halls for a fee of AED 5000 per semester. This amount will include utility charges as well for services like internet connectivity, water, electricity, maintenance and basement car parking.

    Living Expenses:

    Some amount of money will have to be set aside to meet your daily needs like grocery, transportation, phone bills and other incidental expenses. Some of the more common expenses are listed below:

    Health Insurance

    While most universities would include the Health Insurance fee for the first year as part of the visa application, all subsequent renewal would cost approximately AED 1500 per annum.

    Taxes Involved:

    As the study permit does not come attached with part-time work rights in UAE, students do not have to consider this factor at all. Do note most reputed universities will provide with internship options for students during semester beaks wherein students will be provided with paid jobs. The UAE government does not levy tax on individuals who can find a sponsor and obtain a work-permit during their time in the country.
